SaltKilak county Member of Parliament in Amuru district Gilbert Oulanya has tabled before parliament pieces of fake salt being sold to people which opened u MP’s eyes, calling for more scrutiny for the goods flowing into Ugandan market. He told parliament chaired by Rebecca Kadaga that this salt is being imported from Kenya and sold to the people in Amuru district in the northern shops. Oulanya said that this salt could be dangerous to the human health and could cause cancer to the people. He reported that this fake salt does not dissolve in water when used.

The Member of Parliament for Buyaga East Barnabus Tinkasiimire says that government agencies fighting fake products should take up their role and stop such goods on market because could be the reason why cancer cases are going up.

The minister of trade Amelia Kyambadde said that she is going to instruct the Uganda Bureau of standards to investigate the matter of alleged fake salt. She however admitted that such cases of fake products like salt on Ugandan market are due to lack of officers to enforce standards in the country.

The minister of state for health Dr. Baryomunsi says that the ministry of health experts are going to subject this alleged fake salt products to testing and find out the exact answer. He urged the public to remain calm as the matter is investigated further.

Vendors in Kasubi market are accusing their leaders of conniving with Kampala city council authority to evict them from the market without getting them an alternative place where they can operate from. The vendors made the allegations during a meeting with the area MP Moses Kasibante and the mayor of Rubaga Nabossa Joyce Ssebugwawo.

The mayor Nabossa Sebugwawo says she advised the authorities at KCCA to consult the people on where they would need the market to be constructed but KCCA has kept a deaf ear. The area MP Moses Kasibante says they are not against expansion of the road but KCCA must use the money from the World Bank that was committed to redevelop Kasubi market, to construct an alternative market for these vendors before they are evicted.

Health officials have expressed concern about the presence and use of illegal HIV Testing Kits on the market.

The ministry of health in collaboration with the Uganda National Drug Authority has started recalling all HIV testing kits which are on the market illegally.

This is after getting information that the kits that are only meant to be used under the guidance of professional medical personnel are now accessed easily by across the counter in drug shops.

The ministry’s public rations officer Rukia Nakamatte says it prohibited to for anyone to test him or herself HIV without undergoing counseling.

Nakamatte says they always have to do pre and post testing counseling which a person cannot do on their own.

She says anyone caught selling HIV testing kits will be prosecuted.

Traditional doctors in Uganda are known champions of human trafficking and sacrifice. The traditional doctors, herbalists and witchcrafts reportedly grab people on the way and pull out their bones, open their chest and remove the heart and remove peoples’ skins.

Uganda is among one of the countries in the world whose citizens believe in witchcraft and practice suspicious rituals.

These devil’s followers use the human tissues to appease their gods and enrich other devil’s worshippers. Like in other countries, some traditional doctors in Uganda reportedly export human body parts to USA factories for medical and dental products that are implanted into rich people bodies.

The US factories use the human body tissues to repair knees, plump up penises and replace damaged hearts etc.

People in possession of pangolin (Lugave in Luganda) scales now have all reasons to smile as a kilogramme of its scales costs 2.5 million shillings.

The pangolin scales have a big market in China and India where the manufacturers there use them to make jewelries, ornaments and hand-held weapons. Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Spokesperson Ms Lilian Nsubuga says that because of the high demand for pangolin scales in Asia, China and Europe the pangolin population in Uganda and Africa at large is under threat.

In China and Asia the remains of pangolin population are reportedly used in the manufacture of traditional medicine that prolong a man’s erection, and prolong love.

Pangolins are small, squirrel-size animals whose bodies are covered with big scales which are as hard as ivory, tortoise cell or rhino horn.

In Uganda a kilogramme of pangolin scales costs between 50,000 to 100,000 shillings and at the world market the same kilogramme costs $1,000 (about 2.5 Uganda million shillings).

In what looks like a ploy to gain more popularity among the low income earners in Kampala, the MP for Kampala Central division, Hajji Mohammed Nsereko shocked all revelers when he sat in St. Balikudembe market and ate a sugarcane.

He seated among very dirty market vendors and started eating sugarcane while telling them what is going on in parliament.

Sugarcanes are not new to politicians. Many politicians buy sugarcanes for their supporters during campaigns when they fail to get other forms of refreshments for them.

The vendors in the market hailed Nsereko that among the politicians they have elected it is only Nsereko who has returned to share with them a few things.
