The parliamentary committee on local government and public service has this morning embarked on a tour of all KCCA projects

The MPs led by the chairperson Florence Kintu have unearthed shocking information about the two properties on plot 1 Sezibwa and plot 2 Mabua roads.

The MPs have discovered the house located along Mabua road that was meant to be the Mayor’s official residence is now turned into a store for impounded goods.

The impounded goods include hundreds of bicycles, paint, over 50 commuter taxis.

Meanwhile the Deputy Executive Director Judith Tukahirwa and the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago have treated the MPs to free drama.

This after Tukahirwa attacked the mayor for not congratulating her upon her new appointment and for not notifying her of the MPs’ tour.

Lwukwago however hit back saying that he had also not been informed of her appointment, sending the two in a bitter exchange.

There is a rumour inSomaliathat all East African Countries are most likely to ally againstUganda’s political aggression.
This comes at a time when theUSSecretary of State, Hilary Clinton recently confirmed when she was inSouth AfricathatUgandaandRwandawere aiding the M23 rebels fighting in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
So the East African countries have realised that there is need to tameUganda’s militaristic political heads. And this has already resulted into last week’s crash region security conference inKampala. All this brings us to a point that the suspected gun down of the threeUgandamilitary planes was a plot by some East African countries in alliance with the Al Shabaab.

Following intelligence reports that sections of the Batwa, Bamba and Babwisi were planning to kill the Rwenzururu king (Kabaka), Charles Mumbere, the security has been beefed up in Kasese town council and around his palace.

Rwenzururu King, Charles Wesly Iremangoma

It is said that , the Batwa, Babwisi and Bamba ethnic tribes don’t subscribe/ recognise Mumbere as their King. These groups of people have been protesting against Mumbere’s leadership for along time. They accuse Mumbere of buildings shrines in worship of his small god widely known as Satan.

The security reports indicate that the three ethnic tribes who do not subscribe to the Rwenzururu Kingdom want to attack Mumbere’s palace in Kirindi Trading Centre, Kirindi Parish,BusaruSub-county and they kill him from there.

The people of Kasese and Bundibugyo are on tension now; every person fears for his/her life. The ministers in charge of cultures have already held crisis meeting over the matter.

Every tribe in Mumbere’s kingdom has its own traditional values, virtues and norms and therefore they don’t pay allegiance to Rwenzururu Kingdom though they share the same names.

Sources say that the tension is being perpetuated by prominent people in government who don’t want Rwenzururu to get a king.

Shell Uganda has dragged the minister of Justice and Constitutional affairs Kahinda Otafiire and his company, Benzina(U) Ltd over a breach of contract to the commercial court.

In the suit, Shell contends that in November last year, Otafiire received 1.2bn shillings from it after entering into a lease agreement for land located in FRV304 folio, Plot No.174.

Through Ssebalu and Lule advocates, shell claims that Benzina asked that Otafiire be the lead negotiator in the agreement and also mandated him to receive the agreed dround rent.

Otafiire in his letter dated 19th of last month allegedly conceded receiving the said money and dispensing it to Benzina accounts.

The aggrieved Petroleum Company avers that Benzina refused to vacate the land and started throwing out shell agents from the petrol station.

Shell now seeks for an order of specific performance of the said lease agreement or alternatively receives compensation for damages for breach of contract and also returns the paid money.

Shell claims to have lost income at a minimum monthly rate of 8m shillings due to the non use of the land from the first day of last month when the agreement commenced.

It seeks 1.2bn shillings compensation in special damages also court to order respondents to pay costs of the suit.

Police in Buvuma district has today arrested a 99 year old man over defilement of eight year old girl. The police spokesman for central East region, Lameka Kigozi says that the old man who is resident of Namatooke village in BusanziSubCounty, Buvuma District may appear in court on Wednesday.

Kigozi says the old man faces charges of aggravated defilement. The offence attracts a death penalty on conviction.

Kigozi says that the old man reportedly defiled the girl on January 11th, 2012. The girl confesses that she was sexually abused by her grandfather, an allegation the old man denies.

He says that the mother of the girl wants him jailed such that she sales his plot of land.

The police surgeon report confirms that the girl was abused but it doesn’t indicate clearly that it is the old man who is responsible.
