Today we bring to you how you may handle nose bleeding in babies (first aid). As soon as a nose bleed begins, have the child sit up while firmly exerting pressure on the nose by pinching the lower, soft part of the nose between the thumb and forefinger for about 10 minutes.
Alternatively wet a wad of cotton with hydrogen peroxide or petroleum jelly and pack it in the nose, leaving part of it outside.
Tell the child to breath through the mouth and discourage them from playing any rough games for a couple of hours.
It is discouraged to let the child lay down because this increase blood pressure in the head, therefore sending more blood to the nose and making nose bleed harder to stop. A side, blood may run down the child’s throat and may irritate the stomach, causing vomiting.

Fruits good on empty stomachs: eating fruits throughout the morning helps to stabilise the body’s natural energy and eases hunger, while initiating the digestive system for the rest of the day.

Doctor Aisha Lukwago of Lukwago herbal medicine clinic says that fruits supply natural sugars and cleanse the body. Fruits also digest very quickly compared to other foods and because some are sugary, they ferment in the stomach.

This is funny, but if you eat fruits after consuming a lot of other foods that digest slowly, the fermented fruits sit in the stomach longer and may cause bloating and discomfort.

Compared to other foods, fruits require less energy to be digested. Fruit digestion, absorption and assimilation require only a short time, compared to foods like chicken and meat.

Foods to avoid when you have motion sickness: Beginning a day or two (2) days before your trip, avoid heavy foods.

Avoid fried, greasy or fatty foods. Fats only contribute to nausea and stomach upset. If you are going on a vacation, you may be in a celebratory mood.

Resist the temptation to drink even a little alcohol, because it is dehydrating and it can negatively affect the inner ear. Many people change their diets when they travel, but if you are subject to motion sickness, this is not the best time to try new foods or to indulge yourself with treats.

Symptoms of motion sickness are Queasiness, nausea, cold sweats, dizziness, rapid breathing, fatigue, vomiting and loss of coordination.

Scientists recommend that a person suffering from motion sickness should eat lightly before trip and while traveling.

Soups and steamed vegetables will help your stomach stay calm. If you are taking a trip on a commercial airliner, a train, or a ship, phone ahead and explain that you will need special meals.

Most companies in the world are happy to provide vegetarian or healthier dishes for their customers. Incorporate wheat germ or brown rice into your meals.

The above foods are high in B vitamins, which prevent stomach upset and relieve stress.

Chew on parsley as it relieves nausea and stay hydrated. Drink at least one glass of clean water every after two working hours. If you feel queasiness coming on, suck on a slice of lemon or lime.

Intestinal obstruction regularly comes with a lot of pain and it may make some people to take more than five days without passing stool.

The doctors and researchers tell us that intestinal obstruction also comes with stomach distention. This is where the human stomach swells. Some people suffering from Intestinal obstruction may vomit because the food they eat is not digested.

Eating hard foods without escorting it with a lot of fluid is one of the major causes of intestinal obstruction. So it’s advised to avoid eating hard foods like rice, cassava, posho and millet. The people who are found of eating hard foods are advised not to do it so repeatedly.

The best foods and drinks for people suffering from intestinal obstruction are juices, water, fruits, sweet bananas, mangoes, water melon, oranges and pumpkins. Surgery is usually done on people suffering from intestinal obstruction. Intestinal obstruction is the partial blockage of the bowel resulting into failure of intestinal content to pass through.

Intestinal obstruction can also be caused by mechanical conditions, bacterial infections, food poisoning, drug abuse like taking marijuana, which corrupt the stomach, peptic ulcers, eating over starving your self and eating when you are very hungry.

When the stomach gets food after over starving for a long time, the food stays in the stomach because the stomach can not digest it immediately leading to gastric erosion hence gastric ulcers.

Pawpaw is a pharmacy in its own right. Many people eat pawpaw and enjoy it but they have no idea that the fruit is very nutritious and that it makes a good facial.

The Pawpaw fruit is high in vitamin B which helps the body to turn foods into energy and tissues. Pawpaw is rich in essential minerals like potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, zinc and iron, which the body needs to build skeletal and soft tissues.

The fruit regulate processes such as heartbeat, blood clotting, internal fluid pressure, nerve response and transporting oxygen all over the body. Pawpaw is also rich in enzymes that ease digestion.

The enzymes particularly contribute to the breakdown of the proteins into amino acids. Amino acids are the building blocks for the body cells and therefore responsible for all body activity as well as our mental and physical health.

They produce less digestive enzymes in the stomach and pancreas which leads to ineffective digestion of proteins and this can lead to overgrowth of bad bacteria in the gastrointestinal system.

bogoya bananas are a delicacy and good for health

Bogoya (call it Cavendish) is a type of banana. Many times bogoya is eaten when ripe. The potassium and sodium content in bananas regulates the body’s water balance.

The more potassium one has the more fluids there is in his or her body hence preventing dehydration e.g. if one has diarrhea and takes bananas.

Bogoya help to replace the lost fluid. The bananas are also excellent in stressing busters due to their high potassium. They are good in managing intestinal and liver-related disorder like inflammation of the stomach walls.

However you should avoid unripe banana’s (bogoya) because they contain significant amounts of starch that causes flatulence (gas accumulation in the stomach) and indigestion.

Hundreds of women across the globe desire to reduce the size of their stomachs after delivery. There are women whose stomachs remain big after delivery as if they are pregnant again whereas they are not. So in this article we have brought to you how you can reduce the size of your stomach after a C- section.

From the moment the baby is born, the woman’s hormonal changes cause midsection to deflate, shrinking it back to some closer to its pregnancy state.

Naturally it will take about four weeks for the uterus to contract to its normal or original size. Meanwhile, a woman should regularly breastfeed her baby or babies.

The mothers who breastfeed their babies burn extra calories to make milk, so they usually lose pregnant weight more quickly than their non-nursing counterparts.

Also learn to consult a specialist in women health affairs on exercises that firm the belly and are safe for a mother or mothers who have undergone a C-section.
