Government’s promise to create a conducive business environment for the private sector is coming to reality.

It is easing some of the conditions for starting a business.

The latest is the finalizing the computerization of the land registration system.

Atleast 10 million dollars has been set aside to cater for the process of switching from manual to automatic system of acquiring land.

This was revealed by Lands minister DaudiMigereko during a dialogue with the private sector on issues concerning land acquisition- a major challenge in doing business.

According to Migereko, the system is already on in some parts of Kampala and will soon be rolled out to other parts of the country.

He explains that the system entails, mapping of all residents for easy identification, minimization of forgeries and bureaucracies in land acquisition

Yesterday, in another move towards improving the business environment, government announced that the Dar El Salaam Southern Route commonly known as Mutukula route is ready for use as an alternative to Mombasa following numerous complaints from the business community

Because worms usually affect the digestive system first, they cause problems like loss of appetite, stomachache, abdominal discomfort, bloating, diarrhea, bloody stool, vomiting, constipation and gas accumulation.

Other problems caused by worms are rashes, insomnia, eye pain, protein deficiency, nausea, mental dullness, coughing, fever, nervousness, anemia, cold chills, weakness and fatigue. When the worms increase in the body they weaken one’s immune system as the antibodies constantly try to fend them off. Worms have a life cycle, so they can be killed at every stage.

If one kills the eggs of worms, but not the worms, they will lay more eggs, thus the vicious cycle continues. Worms can be eliminated through colon cleansers, antibiotics as well as herbal remedies.

Many people have been asking what is happening with land tittles at the moment in Uganda. Why the system of getting a land title is so slow?

But the land ministry spokesman Denis Obbo says that the ministry is changing the land titles from manual to the computerized system. He says that there is great demand for land titles by people using the manual system and those digitalizing the titles.

Obbo, while speaking to the press in Kampala, said that the ministry has a new procedure for retrieval by those land titles that have been digitalized in order to ensure that they are transacted upon.

During the digitalizing process, the ministry also discovered what we would call ‘problematic titles’ that require rectification and completion before they are digitalized. Some have double plotting – different parcels but with the same identification codes, others signed but not sealed etc.

But when an abscess forms around a hair follicle, it’s known as a BOIL. Dr. Samuel Yu, a Medical doctor at Bethsaida clinic in Wandegeya describes an abscess as a swelling on or in the body where a thick yellowish poisonous liquid (pus) has gathered on a human body.
The causes of abscess are poor diet, impaired immune system, trauma, puncture wounds or cuts, clothing rubbing against the skin and bacterial invasion.

Leading world HIV/AIDS have asked Uganda to implement its national HIV prevention and strategic plans if the country is to reverse the spiraling infections of HIV.

The right on the heels of the 2011 AIDS Indicator Survey in Uganda shows that the HIV prevalence has gone up to 7.3% from 6.4% in 2006.  The Director of the Regional Centre for Quality of Healthcare at Makerere University, Prof. Fred Wabwire- Mangen, says that the recent surveys on HIV spread show some changes in behaviour change and that the new HIV infections are worrying and calls for new thinking in research world.

Agreeing that Uganda is moving in the right direction on the fight against HIV, Dr Alex Coutinho, the executive director of the Infectious Diseases Institute at Makerere University, argued that the speed was still too slow to confront a “national tragedy.”

Dr. Coutinho observes that the health system in Uganda is functioning with leakages and if biomedical HIV prevention tools like medical male circumcision are to make an impact in Uganda, they needed a fully functional health system.

Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) is planning to introduce SMS examination registration system where students would be able to register for national exams via Short Messaging Service (SMS) in order to prevent theft of registration fees by unscrupulous school head teachers.
Sources in UNEB told our reporters that such a system will help students to verify whether they have been cleared to sit for exams.
These sources who declined to speak on record because they were not mandated to speak to the press told us that the idea of introducing SMS examination registration follows numerous complaints about fraud where some heads of schools run away with students’ registration fees.
UNEB officials believe that the system if established effectively will help to control the problem. The system would help students to notice in advance that they have not been registered.
