The Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has indicated that the act of homosexuality is not part of the African culture despite being practiced by some Africans.
Addressing thousands of Christians who had gathered to pay homage to the Uganda Christian martyrs at Namugongo Church of Uganda Shrine in Kampala yesterday, Museveni cited the former king of Buganda Kingdom Kabaka Mwanga who learn’t the act of homosexuality from Arabs.
Kabaka Mwanga is the Buganda King who murdered Christians for failing to denounce Christianity.
Museveni commemded the church for its strong stance against homosexuality and appealed to the Church to continue fighting homosexuality because it’s an immoral act which leads to punishments from God.
He attributed the burning of the Old Testament cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by God to homosexuality.
Uganda has tabled the anti-homosexuality bill but strong criticisms from the international community including the US president Barrack Obama has forced the government to abandon the bill.
