The Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee has today thrown out the Acting IGG Raphael Baku and his staff until substantial IGG is appointed by the appointing Authority.
The Committee has stayed the Inspectorate of Government’s Financial year Budget for 2011/2012 until the matter is settled.
Baku was appearing before the Committee to defend the Institution’s Budget but was cut short by members after raising procedure matter that IGG had been acting in this office for over two years.
One of the members on this committee Sam Otada says the constitution requires the office of the inspectorate of government to have an IGG with two deputies which is not the case now.
Otada says until the attorney general clarifies on the matter they will not pass the IGG’s budget.
Bakku however says he will continue with his work with or without parliament approving his budget.
