The Gunners launched their home kit in May – the club’s first kit release in the Unai Emery era – and have now released their second strip that will come in ‘peacoat navy’. With the standard version to set supporters back £55, and the long-sleeved version to cost £60, Puma have also created an ‘authentic’ version to match the home strip which will also cost £100.
The Puma kit is made up of an ‘evoKNIT performance fabric’ which includes thermo-regulation technology, an enhanced moisture management and adaptive cooling system. A red ‘WM’ can be seen stretched across the sleeves and the chest of the shirt, which pays homage to the famed formation employed by legendary Gunners boss Herbert Chapman in the 1920s and 30s.
The concept behind this technology is to keep the Arsenal players from overheating during their matches and will keep their body temperature at the perfect level.
Engineered cooling zones inside the shirt’s material act as channels to regulate body temperature, whilst moisture management is aided by ‘dryCELL’ technology. The release has received mostly bad reviews from Arsenal supports on social media, with some labelling both home and away kits as ‘terrible’.
One fan wrote on Twitter: ‘Puma clearly don’t want our business anymore. These are terrible – nothing good about any of them. Whoever comes in next just needs to make a yellow away shirt and we’ll be over the moon!’

Others also went on to criticise their launch video, which shows only parts of the kit, covered up by dark lighting. ‘Dreadful, dreadful kit. No wander this video has been shot in the dark. Can’t wait for Adidas next season,’ wrote on angry Gunners fan.
It is clear many fans are not too keen on this season’s kits, with the homes strip receiving an equal amount of criticism. However, Emery will not be concerned by his new side’s appearance should he help recover their form and lead them back into the top four.
