Independents Member of Parliament form own caucus

Independents Member of Parliament have formed their own concuss. The group has been named the parliamentary independents plat form and made up of 43 independents MPs in the house.

The group is chaired by Kibanda County MP Sam Otada with Tororo municipality MP Sanja Tana as his deputy. The Mpigi woman MP Mariam Nalubega is the secretary while Budama West North MP Fox Odoi has been appointed as their legal adviser.

Tana says the independents formed their own concuss to avoid scenarios similar to those of last parliament in which 70 MPs were thrown out of the house for joining different political parties.

It also emerged that a number of independents were recently thrown out of the Bus taking NRM MPs to a caucus meeting with the president in Entebbe.

Speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has designatedmiddle raw on her left hand side of the house for the independents to sit.
