The decision comes from a cross section of members expressing their worries that a number of them were not familiar with each other both in capacity and in name.

The Buganda caucus is currently chaired by Minister of state for Luwero Rose Namayanja, deputized by Kawempe North MP Latif Ssebaggala. Other committee members did not make it to the 9th Parliament.

The elections had been widely expected to take place today with the race for the chair being between Kampala central MP and NRM youth winger Hajj Nsereko Mohammed taking on the former Vice Chair person Latif Ssebaggala.

The elections have been postponed to a period of two weeks to give room for members to acquaint themselves with each other.
