The former LC5 chairperson of Luweero district, Hajji Abdul Nadduli says the name of the Democratic Party has been tarnished, that the party members beat, torture and injure each other.

Nadduli says the Democratic Party will not win state power by splitting two into groups one headed by Norbert Mao and the other by MP Lulume Bayiga.

Nadduli who says he has a life membership card of the Democratic Party calls for reconciliation in DP. He was addressing members of DP who met him at his home in Luweero. They met him in his capacity as an influential opinion leader in the district.

Nadduli says infighting in the Democratic Party is a reason why the oldest political party in Uganda had never won state power. Nadduli says if the members of the Democratic Party cannot reconcile they should merge their party with the ruling National Resistance Movement. Nadduli is currently the chairperson of the ruling party in Luweero district.
