How to breastfeed babies with breathing difficulties

Causes of premature birth and consequent breathing difficulties are a result of many factors some connected to DNA, history of a person, history of the family someone originates from etc.

Babies born prematurely many times find it difficult to breastfeed at first attempt as that baby has not got the required skills or strength to suckle the breasts.

The babies’ failure to suck affects their ability to get enough milk and they can’t stimulate the mother’s breast to release the required milk…so mothers are encouraged to express the milk and feed the baby through a tube.

Some breathing difficulties also discourage babies from breastfeeding. A breast covers a baby’s stuffy or blocked nose makes it difficult for the baby to breathe through the mouth and swallow at the same time.
