I was not sacked from Microfinance Support Center-Dr. Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe

Former vice President who has been the board chairperson of the government-owned Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) Ltd Dr. Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe has dismissed allegations that she was sacked from the organization.

This followed media reports that Finance Minister Maria Kiwanuka has suspended former Vice President Speciosa Wandira Kazibwe as board chairperson of the government-owned Microfinance Support Centre (MSC) Ltd along with another top official until investigations into their alleged mismanagement of the organisation have been completed.

Addressing journalists in Kampala today, Kazibwe said that she cannot be sacked because she was not an employee of the body. She says that the fact that she is suspended means that she is still in Micro-finance support centre and she can still follow the activities until the investigations are concluded.

She says that she just helps to be the board chair so she can’t be sacked but went on to note that even if she was to be sacked it would be the president to sack her not the minister.

Kazibwe however confirms her suspension together with other board members by the minister of finance but says that she will still use her position as the presidential adviser on population and health to call for the new board to be put in place. She also confirms that she can still serve in the same position if recalled after the investigations.
