Lukwago petitions Kayihura over death threats

Embattled Kampala Mayor Erias Lukwago has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Kale Kayihura requesting him to furnish the nation with details of a plot to kill Lukwago or his deputy, Sulaiman Kidandala.

The Police Spokesperson, Judith Nabakooba on Monday issued a press release which was published on the police website and timeline, moreover at a very awkward hour on Sunday 5th January, wherein it was inter-alia alleged that there are certain subversive elements that were plotting to kidnap the Lord Mayor or his deputy or members of his family.

“I unequivocally demanded that the Inspector General of Police doeth furnish the nation with details of the plot and cause the apprehension of the culprits. Some of you friends have, however, sent me messages suggesting that I shouldn’t be bothered by the said statement but simply treat it as the usual hogwash from our police force. But with utmost respect and humility I beg to disagree with that idea as issues relating to homicide cannot be treated lightly. My position still stands that Kayihura must come out clean,” Lukwago says in a news release he released on Monday.
