Mutagamba says many of the officials she has appointed to the National Forestry Authority Board goes through scrutiny by state security agencies but turn out to be corrupt when they take up office.

National forestry authority is facing a relationship crisis from the time its former executive director Dmianal Akankwas was suspended and dragged into Anti-corruption court on corruption charges.

Before being interdicted, Akankwasa had claimed that his wife had stolen 900 million shillings from their bedroom. Some of the national forestry authority board members were also recently arrested over alleged abuse of office.
