The forests coordinator in the National Forestry Authority (NFA), Rebecca Sabaganzi has appealed to NAADS to encourage people to plant trees to reduce on global warming.

Global warming is widely blamed for increasing food shortage, floods and prolonged droughts in Uganda.

Sabaganzi says Naads efforts of concentrating on rearing of animals and planting food crops would not help reduce poverty in the country since water levels are reducing due to limited forest cover.

She urges Naads officials to encourage farmers to plant more trees because forest products like timber are on high demand

Sabaganzi also appealed to opinion, cultural and political leaders across the country to sensitize people on the importance
