Police say Museveni told them Lukwago ‘is no longer Lord Mayor’

Police have said that it deployed heavily at the Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago’s home on Wakaliga because president Museveni’s government told them that he was no longer city lord mayor.

The Deputy Spokesman of police, Patrick Onyango says “if Lukwago intends to hold any meeting in Kampala police will not allow him because the government doesn’t want him to enjoy this right.”

Onyango says police shall deploy its officers to see that Lukwago doesn’t enjoy his freedom of association as the Lord Mayor of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA).

But Lukwago is insisting on holding a meeting in Kampala in his capacity as the Lord Mayor of Kampala despite denied permission to do so by the police, army and the government of Museveni in general.

Lukwago says he is tired of persecution and wondered what the International Criminal Court; world powers like USA, England, German and France are waiting to cub Museveni’s despotic government.
