Police to continue investigating dead man

Police say investigations into the attack of Ex-Rubaga South MP,  Suzan Nampijja will continue despite the death of the key suspect, her estranged lover, Geoffrey Mukisa.

Mukisa who was a former lover of  Nampijja allegedly took poison after attacking her and her two children.

Mukisa passed on last night at Mulago Referral Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit where he has been under tight guard in hospital after the police arrested him as prime suspect in the attack on Nampijja and two other people, Nampijja’s niece, Shakira Namutebi and Harriet Kisaakye, a housemaid on Saturday night, January 28th  at their home in Kitebi, a Kampala suburb.

Mukisa allegedly used a machete and cut Nampijja as she moved out of her car at home and later used the same tool to hack the two girls who came to her rescue leaving them unconscious to the rescue of the neighbors who heard the screams and rushed them to Rubaga Hospital from where they were referred to Case Hospital.

police the next day picked Mukisa from SB Lodge along Salaama Road unconscious after he allegedly took poison, rushed to Mulago Hospital and admitted in the Intensive care Unit. He has never recovered till he met his death.

Speaking to journalists, police publicist for Kampala metropolitan, Idi Ibin Senkumbi said Mukisa’s death won’t stop the file since the victims haven’t made statement with police indicating that he was the only suspect.

Senkumbi says what the victims will tell them upon recovery will inform them of the next step, claiming that there could be other suspects.
