Sitenda Sebalu sacked as NALECO chairman

Former NRM MPs in 7th parliament through their sacco-NALECO have sacked their chairman former Kyaddondo east MP Sitenda Sebalu accusing him of misappropriation of their funds and failure to convene annual general meetings.

In their meeting which sat in Kampala, the former legislators including former ministers Mondo Kagonyera, Edward Rugumayo among others elected former Buyanja county MP and state minister for lands Baguma Isoke as their new chairman deputized by former Kaberamaido woman MP Mary Amajo.

Sources who attended the closed-door meeting at Hotel Africana told us that the meeting to sack Sebalu was summoned by the registrar of cooperatives Johnson Abitekaniza and his assistant Connie Namutebi after the sacco members petitioned his office complaining about Sebalu’s actions.

The meeting resolved to sack Sebalu and tasked him to hand over office to the new chairman in addition to demanding audited books of accounts to the new leaders within three weeks to pave way for investigations in case of any missing funds.

NALECO was in 2008 boasted with shs2bn by president Museveni as entandikwa and he cautioned them against eating this money instead of investing it for income generation
