Turkish investors to visit East Africa

 

Turkish investors are planning to visit East African countries in April starting with Rwanda to assess business opportunities in the energy, agriculture, mining, and manufacturing sectors.The delegation of Turkish business people announced this development on Wednesday at the closure of the Turkey- Africa trade summit in Ganzaintep, Turkey.

The visit of Turkish investors will follow President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Uganda’s president Museveni’s trip to Turkey.

Riza nur Meral, the president of Tuskon confederation of businessmen and industrialists of Turkey says the Turkish investors will explore available opportunities and forge business ties with their East Africa counterparts.

Tuskon has earmarked about $ 400 million to be invested in Africa this year 2014.

Necdet Tiryakioglu, a Turkish billionaire and chairperson of Tiryaki agro processing Ltd says they plan to form joint ventures with East African investors.
