Uganda to retire old civil servants will not reduce unemployment in Uganda

The minister of Uganda for Public Service, Henry Kajura has warned that the change of the retirement age from 64 to 50 will not solve the problem of unemployment in Uganda amongst the youth.

Kajura, 78, says the jobs in public service are few compared to the increasing numbers of unemployed people in Uganda.

The minister says that even if the people above 50 years retire from public work, the problem of unemployment in Uganda will not reduce.

The President of Uganda, Gen. Yoweri Museveni issued a directive in the ministry of public service to change the retirement age of civil servants from 64 to 50 years in order to create room for youth to get jobs.
