How Uganda government soldiers torture suspects

Yesterday I attendedBugandaroad court inKampalawhere 53 treason suspects appeared. One of the suspects was Florence Aliano , a 58 year old widow.
Florencealleges that when she was brutally arrested in January this year and detained at the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), she was over tortured.
She says that she was beaten with strong electricity wires, the back of her neck was repeatedly hit, slapped, slept on a cold concrete floor without any covering and she was not allowed to visit the toilet for long time. She broke down into tears as she narrated her ordeal.
Another suspect, who feared to mention his name here says president Museveni’s regime has “perfected torture.”
He asked people who had turned to the court to look at him. This suspect had no physical scars but he was in severe pain and the mental scars, he says may live with him for life.
The good news was that some of the suspects had their charges withdrawn against them. Some of the suspects who were set free told journalists that Museveni’s government had turned their lives upside down.
Ms Florence Aliano was taken back to Luzira awaiting a trial date at the high court.
