The Ministry of Health has assured Ugandans that there are enough contraceptives in the country. This follows media reports last week that the country is experiencing contraceptives in general.

Contraceptives include oral, injectable, intra uterine devices, implants and condoms for both males and females.

The Acting Director General of Health Services, Nathan Kenya Mugisha says apparently there is no shortage of all types of contraceptives.

He says currently there are adequate stocks of oral, intra uterine devices, implants and condoms.

However Mugisha says injectable contraceptives are in short supply at the National Medical Stores but not in all health facilities around the country.

He says the Ministry of Health is undertaking emergency procurement to meet the shortfall of injectable contraceptives.

Mugisha assures that injectable contraceptives will be in the country soon.
