Uganda’s security minister avoids Chogm committee

The Minister of Uganda for Security, Amama Mbabazi has refused to appear before the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee today. 

Mbabazi was a member of the Cabinet CHOGM sub-committee that was charged with organizing the Commonwealth Summit in 2007.

He was scheduled to appear before the parliamentary committee to explain matters related to the 10 billion shillings the cabinet sub-committee spent in preparation for the summit.

Mbabazi says the Parliamentary committee has no authority to question him over this missing 10 billion shillings in question.
