The Parliamentary Public Accounts committee has rejected another request by former Local Government minister, Hope Mwesigye to appear before the committee.

Mwesigye, the minister for Agriculture wrote a letter to the committee chairperson, Nandala Mafabi seeking audience today to clarify reports by the Auditor General on the 631 million shillings decoration contract she allegedly awarded herself without clearance from the Attorney General.

She was also required to answer queries related to the beautification exercise on the Clock Tower-Munyonyo area.

However, Mafabi insists that the committee gave the minister a chance to appear but she misused it when she walked out last week, claiming MPs had delayed to convene the meeting.

He says that the committee has closed and won’t be holding any more hearings until it presents its report to the House soon.
