The judiciary in Uganda has been advised to fill in the shortage of man power in the National community service committee in order to make the system a success.

The chairperson of Uganda Law Reform Commission, Prof. Joseph Kakooza says in the last three years, the committee has had vacant offices which is constraining its operations.

The community service committee is responsible for human treatment and community based rehabilitation of petty offenders which is under the ministry of internal affairs.

Kakooza says that there is need for increased representation of members on the committee to ensure the effective execution of its duties.
