The Bank of Uganda has announced today that centenary Bank limited was the best performing primary dealer in Uganda government securities during the month of June 2010.
Previous winners for primary dealers in Uganda government securities since January 2009 are Barclays Bank Uganda Limited (4 times), Standard Chartered Bank Uganda Limited (7 times), Stanbic Bank Uganda limited (two times) and DFCU Bank Limited two times.
The bank of Uganda initiated the award to the best performing primary dealer in Uganda government securities for the month in January 2005.
The exercise is done to recognize the primary dealer that performed best in auctions of monetary policy instruments, secondary market trading of Uganda government securities and the transmittal of information regarding the status of the financial markets to the central bank of Uganda.
