4 drivers held for obstructing Museveni’s convoy

The police have arrested four motorists for allegedly obstructing president Museveni’s convoy on Kampala Entebbe road today.

The drivers remained on the road as the presidential convoy was heading to Entebbe. The police say it’s illegal for failing to give way, over take, or masquerading as part of the VIP convoys.

The suspects have been ordered by traffic police on Entebbe road to pay express penalty of 100,000 shillings. The police commissioner in charge of road safety, Bazil Mugisha says it is also illegal drive at a high speed when a convoy is on the road.

Obstructing the presidential or any VIP convoy is criminal and punishable according to the road safety act of 1998.
