The President General of the Democratic Party, Norbert Mao has urged opposition Inter Party Coalition (IPC) to join DP to form a strong political block to defeat NRM in 2011 general elections in Uganda.

Speaking in Kampala today, Mao said there is a serious need for all parties in IPC to join DP in its presidential bid. He says it is only DP among all parties in Uganda with well established structures that can cause real change in Uganda’s politics.

Mao also denies allegations that DP has internal weaknesses and divisions. He says the political success of all opposition parties in Uganda will depend on DP.

Mao who is also the LC5 chairperson of Gulu district says DP is the only party with enough capacity to put pressure on President Museveni to quit the countries politics.
