Terrorists admit to July 11 bomb blasts in Kampala Uganda

Some of the suspects who were arrested for planting bombs in Kampala that killed over 80 people have accepted their involved but asked for clemency from Ugandans.

The Director of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence Brig. James Mugira paraded Nsubuga Edrisa and Ismael Luyima who both pleaded to have been involved in the terror attacks.

Two bomb blasts in went off at Kyadondo rugby stadium in Lugoogo where people were watching finals of the world cup and at Ethiopian Village restaurant in Kabalagala on July 11th 2010.

Edrisa said he is the one who tool a Somali suicide bomber on a boda boda to Kyadondo, and also ignited one of the bombs through a phone he had been given. He said threw the SIM card on the way and later the phone in the toilet, but the security managed to track him. He expressed regret and pleaded to be forgiven, saying he didn’t realize the intensity of what he was engaged in.

Ismael Luyima said he was the planner and keeper of suicide bombers as well as the bomb materials that were used in Kyadondo and Kabalgalaa, including the failed one at Makindye. He also asked for forgiveness. But many Ugandans are baying for the suspects to be heavily punished.

CMI boos Brig. James Mugira said the Uganda security agencies had managed to net the terrorists and warned all those engaged or planning to carryout terrorist attacks on Uganda that they will be netted and dealt with accordingly.
