Mao calls more women to take part in 2011 polls on DP ticket

The President of the Democratic Party (DP), Norbert Mao has called upon more women to contest for posts during the 2011 elections on his party ticket.

Mao who is also the LCV chairperson of Gulu was addressing journalists at the DP head offices on William Street in Kampala today.

He says DP is giving the women a chance to take up national leadership on the Democratic Party ticket.

Mao says his leadership wants at least 45% of the MPs, LCV chairpersons, and other Local council posts to be occupied by women of his party ticket.

The LCV chairperson also urges more women to contest for elective positions in 2011 general elections.
