youth in Uganda like the increase of its budget funding to youth programmes in Uganda.

The government in Uganda’s Budget for financial year 2010/2011 increased its budget funding to youth programmes even promising to establish a fund from which the youths would borrow such that they engage in income generating activities.

The Secretariat has said in press statement that it is good news that the government has come out to realise how important the youth are to the development of the country and therefore increased its financial support to them.

The secretariat says this financial support will contribute to youths’ empowerment through addressing the unemployment problem which is one of the biggest problems to the youths in the country.

Despite the fact that the youth constitute the biggest percentage of Uganda’s population, many people have been complaining that the government has in recent years not paid the required attention to their needs.
