Trinidad and Tobago donates 328 million shillings to Uganda

The government of Trinidad and Tobago has given Uganda over 328 million shillings towards the Bududa Landslide disaster fund to help the flood victims.

The massive landslides in Bududa covered a family of six people including five children and an old man last week.

The cheque has been handed to Minister of Uganda for Foreign Affairs, Sam Kuteesa today by the High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago, Patrick Edwards in Kampala.

Patrick Edwards says Trinidad and Tobago has donated this money to Uganda in a spirit of African brotherhood and empathy.

Trinidad and Tobago has donated this money to Uganda at a time when Uganda has also just donated 270 million shillings to the people of Haiti who were devastated by strong earth quake on January 12th, 2010.
