The President of the Social Democratic Party, Michael Mabikke has asked the government of Uganda to renovate and cover potholes in roads across Uganda.

Addressing journalists at Parliament today, Mabikke said the government deliberately maintains potholes in the middle of the roads such that it covers them during elections and gets votes.

He says President Museveni and other NRM leaders want to tell voters to vote NRM candidates if they want their roads to be worked upon.  The next general elections in Uganda will take place in 2011.

Mabikke further asks the members of the Inter Party Coalition to elect him as their Presidential flag bearer for 2011 general elections. The Inter Party Coalition nominated her candidates on Tuesday.
