The former Minister for Agriculture in Obote I government, Mathias Ngobi has rubbished a New Vision article which was ran recently that listed him among the dead.
The New Vision on August 23rd 2010 ran a news item that brought Ngobi as one of the veteran Uganda politicians who have died.
Ngobi has told our reporters in Jinja today that he is still alive and lives in a village called Namulesa in Eastern Uganda.
Ngobi served as minister of Uganda for agriculture in 1979. He also served in the same portfolio in 1980 during the reign of late Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa.
Ngobi went to exile in 1981in United Kingdom. He returned to Uganda in 1985 after the overthrow of the Obote II government by the former National Resistance Movement.
