The opposition members under their Action for change a pressure group have vowed to go ahead with their planned walk to work protest next Monday in protest against high food, fuel prices and other basic commodities.

Mpuga says none of the opposition leaders has been intimidated by the police arrests so far. He says even the injured President of Forum for Democratic Change Dr. Kiiza Besigye Kifefe is ready to lead more peace full protests.

Mpuga says the Activists for Change will go ahead to carry out another walk to work protest on Monday and Thursday until the government acts to reverse the current inflation and resultant rise in prices of goods and services.

But President Yoweri Museveni warned on Saturday that the government will not let any other protests to take place, saying the protestors had political motives and were not concerned about economic issues affecting the country.

He said there is little the government can do to stop the increase in prices of fuel since oil prices have increased across the world, and the prices of food, which Museveni says resulted from the long drought experienced in the previous season.
