Police blocks a demonstration by women over health Centre Ambulance

Police has blocked a demonstration by women in Kiyunga trading Centre in Luka district who were protesting the misuse of an Ambulance donated to Kiyunga Health Centre IV by the area MP elect James Bagole.

The women from Kiyunga trading Centre walked through Nabitanu, Bukendi and Nabigobya villages this morning to express their dissatisfaction with the way the ambulance is being used.

They were however intercepted before they could reach Kiyunga Health Centre.

The women lead by LCIII Chairperson Elect for Kiyunga sub-county Grace Waiswa claim the Ambulance is not serving the purpose for which it was donated to the Health Centre.

They claim that the ambulance is being used by the district health officer Margaret Sekonga instead of ferrying patients in need of emergency treatment to the hospital.

Olweiso says they want the district Health officer to re-immediately reassign the ambulance for the work for which it was donated to the health Centre.

Sekonga acknowledged having used the ambulance car for her transport but also uses it to transport patients.
