UPDF trains URA in tax crime management

Over 50 workers of the Uganda Revenue Authority have concluded a training by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces in tax crime management.

The 50 URA staff were today passed out at a pass out at a colourful function in the UPDF Junior Staff College campus in Jinja.

The head of training at the Junior Staff College Lt. Col. Olupot Opolot said the URA staff were trained in proper guarding of border points, self defense, target shooting, among other skills

He said the training is a result of a partnership between URA and UPDF to reduce tax evasions especially at border points.

Doris Akol, URA Commissioner Legal and Board Affairs congratulated the trainees and said they will improve URA’s capacity to collect more taxes for the benefit of all Ugandans.
