May 12 declared national public holiday

Government has announced the swearing-in day for President Museveni a national public holiday.

The Public Service Minister, Henry Muganwa Kajura has told the journalists that Thursday May 12, 2011 all government offices will not be active as public servants will be honoring the President’s Swearing-in.

On May 12 President Museveni of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party will be sworn in at Kololo airstrip in Kampala as the President of Uganda for 2011-2016 after beating other 7 candidates in the hotly contested February 18 elections.

President Museveni polled 68% followed by the Forum for Democratic Change boss, Dr. Besigye with 26% leaving the rest with 6%.
