Opposition to hold public swearing in on Thursday prayer day

The opposition has insisted they will go ahead with their own planned activities on Thursday to coincide with the swearing in of President Yoweri Museveni.

Forum for Democratic Change President Dr Kiiza Besigye is set to return to the country from Nairobi Kenya where he had gone for treatment. Besigye will return on Wednesday.

The opposition has called on the youths to show up and welcome him in big numbers. This comes after the Police issued a stern warning to the opposition in line with the same.

The DP President Norbert Mao says that the opposition has rejected the Police advice and will welcome the FDC President on his return to Uganda on Wednesday.

Mao also says that the opposition will hold a National day of prayer on Thursday this week in Nakivubo stadium in an event that will be celebrated by Bishop Zac Niringiye.

The function will include the swearing in of the general public to keep with the walk to work campaign.

Mao has however warned against what he has called the Government hardliners such as Kabakumba Matsiko and Kirunda Kivejinja among others over abusing the opposition leaders.
