Former KCC workers complain over newly created Capital City Authority

Former Kampala city council workers have started complaining of being denied access to the available job description under the newly created Kampala capital city authority.

Janipher Musisi Semakula was recently appointed as Executive Director of the new city authority  under the Kampala city authority Act 2010.

Over 1500 employees under the former KCC now accuse the new director of implementing the law without meeting them.

According to one of the employees Alex Wasswa says there is panic at city hall as some people are not sue of their jobs under the new arrangement.

On March 1st 2011 Kampala ceased to be a district and workers are to be subjected to fresh interviews by the ministry of public service.

They fear to loose their jobs, Semakula recently issued a memo that all workers and head of departments  indicating that they have to first to undergo fresh interview and those who don’t wish to continue under the new arrangement shall be given termination package.
