The former Vice President Prof. Gilbert Balibaseka Bukenya has promised to eradicate poverty among his people in Busiro North Constituency.

Prof. Bukeya who took an oath as an MP for Busiro North for more five years this week, told the journalists in Kampala on May 18 that as a Member of Parliament of Busiro North it is still his concern to change the lives of his constituents.

He says that this term he will ensure people abandon wattle houses to construct permanent house and increase piped water in the constituency.

Bekenye whose term of office as Vice President of Uganda expired on May 12, says that if President Museveni reinstates him in the same office, he will ensure all Ugandans are out poverty.

Bukenya has been spearheading the upland rice cultivation government program which has changed lives of a number of Ugandans.
