Bugiri district reports Ebola case

 

Another case of Ebola disease has been reported in Bugiri district increasing the Ministry of Health’s fear that the disease may spread across the country.

The Bugiri district healthy authorities have reported to the Ministry of Health that one person has been suspected and admitted at Bugiri Hospital with all the symptoms of Ebola such as acute fever, rushes and bleeding gum.

Since the Ebola disease killed a 12 year old girl at Bombo military hospital about two weeks ago, the Bugiri patient is the second case after a health worker at Bombo military hospital who the ministry says has been treated and is showing signs of improvement.

The Commissioner for National Disease Control, Dr. Denis Rwamafa says that before the Bugiri case, the ministry had put six district under strict monitoring for 42 days after the death of the girl and the districts include; Kampala, Luwero, Wakiso, Nakaseke, Nakasongola and Mukono.
