President Museveni sacks VP Bukenya

The Ugandan President, Yoweri Museveni has eliminated his eight year Vice President, Professor Gilbert Balibaseka Bukenya on the list of the proposed cabinet ministers.

It happened as a rumor, but the victim, Prof. Bukenya has confirmed his discontinuation and says it is a great relief as he will concentrate on his private businesses.

The unbothered outgoing Vice President says that he will continue fighting poverty among Ugandans even as a common man adding that getting people out of poverty does not require any big office.

Bukenya promises to remain a member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), the ruling party.

Rumors first circulated that the President had tipped his Vice for the ministry of health since he is a medical doctor but Bukenya declined the offer calling it a demotion the fact that he has been the country’s ‘number two’.

The Professor is likely to suffer a double slap if he loses the case in which his Busiro County North Member of Parliament seat is being challenged in court by his February 18 parliamentary elections opponent, Hussein Kasta Bukenya.
