Tullow oil supports Ministry of Health fight against Ebola outbreak

A private oil exploration company Tullow Oil Uganda has donated 75 million shillings to the ministry of Health to support the national campaign in the fight against Ebola.

Tullow Uganda General Manager Dr Brian Glover says the contribution is to assist the ministry of health to support the communication campaign in promoting public sensitization and awareness for prevention and control of the disease.

According to the ministry of health, one person has so far succumbed to the deadly disease, while two soldiers from Bombo Military barracks are under close surveillance after showing some signs of the disease.

The Permanent secretary in the ministry of health Dr. Asuman Lukwago says they have set up two isolation centres, one in Bombo military barracks hospital and the other at Kiwoko hospital, where construction of the unit is yet to be finalized.
