Political leaders urged against corruption tendencies

The Chairperson Mbale district Bernard Mujasi has appealed to the political leaders at all level in the district to be firm in the fight against corruption that is rampant in the district.

Mujasi said it is shame for those in responsible position to divert funds meant for the public which denies services to local people.

He was addressing residents of Bungokaso sub-county in Mbale district after swearing in ceremony of the sub-county LCIII chairperson Ahmed Washaki and his councillors at a function that was held at the sub-county headquaters .

Mujasi advised political leaders and technical staff to ensue team work in a bid to offer better services and remain committed to serve all the people without discrimination.

He says political leaders must know about the funds being allocated to sub-county and expenditure as representative of the people.

The magistrate who administered the oath Paul Mukwasi called for unity among the councillors and to be committed to the oath they have taken as a guide in executing their duties properly.
