Mayor Lukwago and predecessor Sebagala at war over office

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago has warned to petition the Speaker of Parliament over the former Mayor and recently appointed Minister without Portfolio, Nasser Ntege Sebagala’s continued use of KCCA offices.

The Lord Mayor says he will ask the Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga not to include Sebagala’s name on the list of ministers supposed to be vetted by parliament.

Lukwago says that since he took an oath on May 19 he has not entered his office as Sebagala has delayed to make a formal handle over.

Lukwago, a professional lawyer says that it is illegal Sebagala to assume two public offices that is; the office of the Lord Mayor and that of the Minister without Portfolio.

Lukwago and Sebagala have been at war of words since the former won the March mayoral elections threatening to investigate the latter’s fraud after taking over office.
