Minister Rebbeca Otengo with President Museveni

The Minister of State for northern Uganda Rebecca Otengo has promised to work hard for the development of vulnerable people in northern Uganda.

She says her main focus once approved by parliament will be to ensure that all children in the area access education and health services.

Otengo says she will also work hard to ensure that the people in the area engage in productive work to avoid what she termed as dependency syndrome where they keep expecting to receive free things from the government or donors.

The Parliamentary Appointments Committee is currently vetting members of Presidetn Museveni’s cabinet which he proposed.
