Muslims dissatisfied with allocation of ministries

The Muslims in Uganda have said that President Museveni did not consider well the Muslims in his cabinet.

Talking at a meeting at Kibuli Mosque on June 9, the Secretary of Sheiks, Hassan Kirya said that they are going to communicate to all mosques in the country to pray for the situation where the country does not respect Islam. He adds that they will tell the Muslim leaders desist from attending government functions.

Kirya says that as the Muslim community they have prepared a letter to petition the President over their dissatisfaction with the ministries allocation.

He explains that in a list of about 29 full cabinet ministers including the Vice President, there is only one Muslim with a complete ministry, Syda Bumba the Minister of Gender and Social Affairs. He says Gen. Moses Ali is a mere 3rd Deputy Prime Minister.

He adds that in over 45 state ministers Muslims have been given only four ministries.
