Jinja municipal council workers arrested over alleged corruption

Three workers of Jinja municipal council have been arrested by the inspector general of government for alleged corruption. The arrested suspects are Anest Nabihamba, the principal municipal environment officer, Michael Kakonge the municipal road.

They are accused of embezzlement and making false accounting of public money. They allegedly committed the offense between2008-2009.

They allegedly provided false accountability without any work done. Nahinda presented receipts claiming that he had used 800,000 shillings for planting grass at the Masese manure composite site whereas not.

Kakongo on the other hand made an accountability of 4.8 million shillings made for purchase of bitumen and fire wood to be used during road construction. The acting inspector general of government spokesperson Hassan Walusimbi says the dual were picked from their offices by the inspector general of government detectives and taken to Kampala central police station where they will be got and produced to the Ant-corruption court
