Bulisa blames development woes on lack of electricity

Electricity distribution is reported to be frustrating development in Bulisa district that was curved from Masindi district in 2007 and lies in the area of Albertan valley.

Buisa LCV chairman Fred Lukuma says challenges like poor roads infrastructure, lack of good schools and health centres are greatly hindering the development.

He says no single part of the district is connected to national power grid. He pointed out that the operation costs of running the generator to run all the district departments for the entire day are too high.

It was recently reported that a fish plant at Butyaba closed down due to lack of electricity. Lukumu argued agent government attention in extending power to Bulisa district to end such associated problems.
